IBS Symptoms: Irritable Bowel Symptoms

By Runal Keronil

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a disease that is estimated to affect 15% of the population in the United States today. There are many IBS symptoms that can help to diagnose the disease, but there currently is no cure. The disease is one that can easily be misdiagnosed and often is mistaken for other diseases it shares its myriad of symptoms with. IBS is often accompanied with several other painful or dehibilitating medical conditions, which can also make its diagnosis a more difficult task. IBS symptoms can be treated in a number of ways and although IBS and IBS symptoms can be painful and inconvenient the disease is not thought to be deadly.

Spastic colon specifically refers to the muscles in the small and large intestines and how they can contract uncontrollably, leading to cramps and diarrhea or constipation. Imagine your hand opening and closing quickly and without your control, and you have an idea of how spastic colon works. The condition keeps the intestine and the bowels from properly working, leaving the sufferer feeling bloated, weak and otherwise miserable.

There are 3 types of irritable bowel syndrome. IBS - D sufferers have diarrhea as the most frequent symptom. IBS - C sufferers deal primarily with constipation and IBS - A sufferers can have both.

Doctors really don't know what causes IBS, but some suspect that IBS may be stress related. When you have IBS the nerves and muscles in the bowel seem to be extra sensitive. The muscles may contract to much when you eat causing pain. These contractions may cause diarrhea while eating or shortly after.

To cope with stress, seeking alternative treatments might be the answer rather than taking prescribed medicine that can cause their own set of uncomfortable side effects. Bavolex is an all natural treatment that works to calm the nervous system and ease stress. By easing the effect that stress has on the body, irritable bowel syndrome can be controlled and serious attacks of abdominal pain, severe constipation, or sudden diarrhea can be averted. Bavolex's herbal and plant extracts calm the muscles that contract in the intestines. Bavolex contains papain, bromelain, pancreatic enzymes to aid in more efficient digestion of food.

Although IBS is very painful it does not cause any long lasting damage to the colon.
