How Does Face Wash Benefit Teens?

By Rob Sutter

It would seem like every period of fourteen days or so my brother would go through yet another package of Stridex pads. Acne is a subject that seems to be the most prevalent during middle and high school; I can sympathize with him greatly. Mother Nature would take her course and, as a result, facial imperfections seem to sprout. I'm sure that face wash could be utilized, though, and it would be a smart move if my brother desires a blemish-free face.

Amongst the several facial imperfections one can list off, face wash can help, especially if one fears the facial scars zit can leave in their wake. Likewise, amongst other companies in this line of work, creates the wash for those people who don't have ideal skin. In this case, a gentle wash is most important since others might leave a stinging sensation on the skin. Proactiv, for instance, might not work for everyone since there are those who will claim the wash leaves a feeling of burning, so one's mileage may vary on the matter.

Face wash is dependent on the type of skin a person has, so not every type is going to benefit. In middle school, my skin was quite oily so that resulted in many washes being used and not many of them succeeding. After instances of reddened skin and even peeling, I had to quit with that. Later on, it was brought to my attention that certain skin types worked exclusively and I had to look elsewhere for the one most fitting to me.

If face wash alone doesn't work as well as you had hoped, there is no shame in putting other products to use. However, know that too many skincare products at one time can potentially make your situation worse. I remember using Stridex face pads along with a wash used by a different company and while I initially believed that this would render my skin super healthy, only more zits appeared in their place. Benzoyl peroxide can often leave behind irritation if at 10%, so 2.5 to 5% is the magic statistic.

Face wash has plenty of benefits but it's one of those solutions that has a number of variables to consider. Skin type is important to note, since not everyone is going to have the same amount of success as each other. Different strokes will indeed be for different folks and the same can be said for how much skincare a facial situation calls for. A number of solutions may eventually help the situation more greatly but one should be careful about how much is used. When it comes to one's skin, there's no such thing as being "too careful."
